El Gobierno de Canadá busca que 500.000 extranjeros ingresen anualmente hasta el 2025, lo que sumaría 1,5 millones de migrantes, con lo que llegaría a tener cuatro veces más inmigrantes que Estados Unidos.
Esta decisión se tomó debido a que la tasa de natalidad que tiene el país norteamericano es baja y la población va envejeciendo, por lo que se va deteriorando y acabando la fuerza laboral.
Canadá por medio de su “sistema basado en puntos que daba preferencia a los inmigrantes altamente cualificados que contribuirían a la economía”, espera alcanzar su objetivo de cubrir los miles de empleos disponibles que existen.
“El plan de inmigración ayudará a las empresas a encontrar los trabajadores que necesitan”, dijo el ministro de Inmigración de Canadá, Sean Fraser.
Según BBC, Canadá cuenta con un millón de desempleados que no pueden cubrir 950.000 vacantes porque las personas no tienen las habilidades que se requieren o no viven en las zonas que establecen las ofertas.
Frente a esto, aseguran que aunque en Estados Unidos uno de los problemas es la oposición y preocupación porque los inmigrantes ocupen todos los puestos de trabajo, Canadá ha tenido “históricamente un apoyo muy alto a la inmigración” que se debería a que hay un grado de confianza pública en que la inmigración a Canadá está bien gestionada por el gobierno.
